I'm personally putting this review out to warn other patients of my experience with Dr. Michael Rench. On January 20th 2026 I received a text notice that I needed to call the office and reschedule my appointment that was scheduled for January 27th 2026 as they did not have a hygienest. I stopped in the office on January 21st 2026 and tried to reschedule and I was dealing with Jess. She told me that I would have to wait until October 2026 and I told her that was unacceptable and that was crap as that would be 1 year and 3 months for my cleaning and that's why I schedule them out 6 months in advance that I have good teeth and I want to keep them. She very rudely said that's just the way it is and I said seriously your very rude and I don't think that's in your job description. She then said I'll put you on a waiting list. I told her I'd be looking for a new dentist as I walked out the door. On January 22nd 2026 I got a termination letter due to on going issues. I've always been respectful and have never had ANY issues with Dr. Rench or his staff except Jess and her rudeness. I emailed him twice and he will not answer either one of them. I did find another dentist that I can see way before October 2026.

Do NOT recommend Dr. Rensch. He charges for dental work that did not happen. I was told by Jess my balance is zero and disregard any future bills. She leaves a lot to be desired scamming patients. Many patients, including staff have left Dr. R because of his poor relationship with patients and staff. He stated ongoing issues with me that is why he terminated me and if so, would like to know what he is referring to. He does not answer emails, letters or phone calls. His staff at front desk, especially Jess is rude, obnoxious disrespectful and certainly does not know what she is doing with billing. I was told by Jess my balance was zero and to ignore any bills I receive. She sent several more bills and when I confronted her she denied she said that. I have a witness that heard her say my balance was zero. After several harassments from her I paid the bill which I did NOT owe. She should have been fired long ago. I have never had ongoing issues with Dr. R or staff. Many patients and staff have left because of the rudeness of Jess. Been Dr. R patient for several years and all of a sudden "ongoing issues". Obviously Dr. R does NOT like the elderly and certainly Jess likes no one and treats patients like scum. My supervisor with U.S. Navy was an Admiral and I certainly know respect and courtesy. Dr R reviews are not good. Out of several reviews of dentists in CB Dr R had the worst reviews. I will pursue this further to higher authority. I take exception to the treatment by Dr. R and staff. I paid a bill I did NOT owe.

They wanted to charge to fix dental work they performed not even 6 months ago. This place is an absolute rip off. Grievance has been filed with the Iowa dental board.

I had a similar experience with their billing dept as the other bad reviews. I dealt with someone named Jessica. I went in for a standard cleaning in February of 2025. I recently switched insurance companies & forgot to tell them so I will take responsibility for that. My issue is how they handled this situation. I got my standard cleaning and they billed my old insurance company (United) and United paid out that claim. Then United contacted Rensch and said that I actually wasn't covered so they need the $82 paid back to them. Rensch paid them back and then told me that I needed to pay them. I told them that I was insured so I asked if they could bill my new Insurance Company and get reimbursed from them. Jessica very RUDELY told me that's between me and my insurance company and she couldn't help me at all. So I looked this up online and they could have filed a new claim with my new insurance company for me and got reimbursed. I also called my new insurance company and they confirmed what I researched as well. So Rensch could've filed a new claim but instead I'm having to fill out the claim form and get reimbursed myself - it takes 30 days. I told Rensch to cancel me and my son's future appointments and I hope the $82 was worth it as they lost 2 patients. She had no problem and didn't even try to win us back or apologize. It's just poor customer service and I've been going there for 15+ years and my son is 12 and has been going there since he was born. They lost 2 patients because of their rude and unhelpful staff. I would tell people to find a different dentist with more friendly and helpful staff.
